Just playing around....

with weaving software:



It's really too hot to do much else.

Don't you wish you were swimming with the fishes?  I've wound the warp to sample this....stay tuned for breaking developments.

Midsummer Michigan

This morning the Hollyhocks are the standout performers:
The day lilies have flowers that are shoulder height on me, but those long stalks bob in even the slightest wind.....so no photo's.

On the loom, I've played with the tie-up and treadling on the diversified plain weave.  This is as good as it's going to get:

Here's what it looks like from a distance:

It's a wonky looking fabric, but I guess the fabric can be used to make a small bag for spindles or sock knitting.  I was hoping to get a fabric that looked more like Japanese Sashiko embroidery.

I've also been playing around with weaving software to convert drafts into tied weaves.  Here's one:

 Yep, that one's an eyeball buster.
I do have another warp planned, but it's not any of these.  Not sure if I'll weave any of these, but it's fun to play with....kind of like weaver's sudoku.
